N-Heteropolyzyklen als Funktionsmaterialien
A02 - Azapyrene- & Azaperopyrene-Derivatives as Organic Functional Materials
Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry

Project Description
A central goal of the research project is the further development of structural motifs within the chemical space of azapyrenes and azaperopyrenes. Previously, two reference systems have been developed, the tetraazaperopyrenes (TAPPs) and tetraazapyrenes (TAPys), and future work will focus on additional isosteric [CH]↔[N] substitutions with the aim of accessing more highly aza-substituted homologues, such as hexaazapyrenes (HAPys), hexaazaperopyrenes (HAPPs) and octaazaperopyrenes (OAPPs). Futhermore, new bis(triarylvinyl)-substituted (BTAV) N-heteropolycycles, inter alia with azapyrene cores (e.g. BTAV-HAPy) will be prepared and studied as potential solid state emitters.
