A05 - Electron Donors of Different Dimensionality Derived from Bridged Triphenylamines

Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry
Prof. Kivala – OCI, Uni HD

Project Description

The project focuses on the synthesis and study of new families of ortho-bridged triphenylamines as versatile electron donors. The structural, electronic and photophysical properties of these compounds are carefully adjusted by systematically varying the bridging units. The obtained electron donors form persistent open-shell and donor-acceptor systems which are being investigated in close cooperation with material-oriented and theoretical groups as novel organic semiconductors and functional materials.

Example of a fully bridged triphenylamine developed within the project.
